This is an example of collaboration between birders and marine biologists, but not directly related to Razorbills. This was a trip to collect the blood of Great Shearwaters to perform stable isotope analysis on them, to learn more about their diet, and how they fit into the marine food web (the birds were returned to the water unharmed). The best area we found was 25miles east of Chatham/Monomoy MA. While hunting for the Great Shearwaters we also found one early Northern Fulmar and one Skua (probably South Polar, see above photos, and my seeing some paleness on the nape).
